HPIi005-B

Reviewed by Australian Stem Cell Registry

Alternative Names: RYR1-5-9214-iPSC clone R11

Details

Description

This induced pluripotent stem cell line was derived by using sendai viral vectors to reprogram an immortalised lymphoblastoid cell line generated from a male Central Core Disease of Muscle patient. HPIi005-B is described as having a normal karyotype and a heterozygous variant in the RYR1 gene. Expression of OCT4, NANOG, SOX2, CRIPTO, TRA-1-60 and SSEA-4 in undifferentiated cells, and directed differentiation to endoderm, mesoderm and ectoderm have been reported.

Age: 30-34

Biological Sex: Male

Disease: MONDO:0007294
Label: central core myopathy
Definition: An autosomal dominant congenital disorder affecting the skeletal muscles. Microscopically, it is characterized by disorganized areas, which are called cores, seen usually in the center of the muscle fibers. Clinically it presents as mild to severe muscle weakness. It may be associated with skeletal abnormalities including scoliosis, joint deformities, and hip dislocation.
